Take a look at the golf course scorecard and book your tee-times online. It is surely on track to becoming the preeminent golfing facility in the City of Tacoma, and one of the finest Elks Lodges in the Pacific Northwest.
Lynn Elliott's desk is a sea of yellow sticky notes. He uses the tiny pieces of paper to keep track of the dozen of hats he wears each day. He is a husband and a father of two. While he coaches his children's baseball, softball, soccer and wrestling teams, he is also the family cook. Lynn runs his own sprinkler business as well. As if all that weren't enough, he is also the superintendent at Allenmore Public Golf Course, and our Men's Club is lucky to have him!
Craig is highly organized and has an excellent track record for implementing and maintaining policies and procedures with respect of both the membership and the staff. He is thrilled at what the future has in store for him at Allenmore Golf Course and looks forward to a great working relationship with our Men's Club. WELCOME ABOARD CRAIG!
Many new rules go into effect in 2019 which will apply to all amateur golfers. Our Handicap Chairman, John Mayfield, has provided us with a series of very short YouTube videos which clearly demonstrate the rule changes. We encourage everyone to click on the WSGA Icon to view these videos. Each video is generally less than 90 seconds. The overall driving force behind many of these changes is to increase the pace-of-play and enhance the enjoyment of golf.
Golf Course Superintendent
When you have to juggle as many balls as Elliott, it is easy to let any one of those duties monopolize your time. If you don't prioritize your life, someone or something else will. "I don't set my priorities," Elliott says. "I am partly a procrastinator because I am not as organized as I could be," Elliot admits. "I'm always burning the candle at both ends."
Step one foot on our golf course and you will immediately notice we have one of the more visually appealing and playable facilities in the area. In addition to all of the recent improvements to the golf course, cart paths, new fleet of golf carts, clubhouse, restaurant, and lounge, our fairways and greens are in superb condition year-round thanks to Lynn and his crew!
Below are some new rates, and specials, offered by Allenmore Golf Course effective November 1, 2018. All prices listed include sales tax and are subject to change at any time. In addition to this great golf facility, there are many other benefits to becoming a member of our Men's Club. You can purchase any of these items in the Pro Shop. Punch cards are also available to Men's Club Members into the Pro Shop.
With the USGA releasing their new GHIN product platform in 2019, the WSGA has made the decision to update their deadline for the inactivation of members starting in December 2018. They ask all clubs to inactivate members that have not paid for the upcoming year by December 31st. There will be a hard deadline for this inactivation of January 31st at 9:00 PM PST this initial year only. December 31st beginning in 2019.
They encourage clubs to reach out to their members who travel south for the winter and collect their dues now and leave them active for the beginning of next year.
